I am sorry but there is just not enough support for non military amputees.Don't get me wrong these guys deserve all the help and needs they get and more. I am a 45 year old male with a left bellow knee amputation who is trying to get the kind of limb that I believe would help benefit me more but always get the same answer. "NOT ENOUGH FUNDING" I feel with the right limbs that I would have a better quality of life.
Frankly, I do not know such in details, but, in the Govt. Service, any service, colour blindness is not pemitted for entry, to the extent of our knowledge, but, what I feel, as you are preparing for a great avenue in career, kindly continue sincerly, at least it will give a very fine 'preparedness' to try for many more chances in the possible fields of repute; good education never fails in the society' keep the mind open.
(For the exact information of your concern, try to contact UPSC, directly, and if you know some favourable information, please post in this Forum to help others in the society, that will be a great help to us, all.) . God Bless.

Wanee,
Please have courage, please keep faith in the Lord's Wish.
What I feel, your case may not be that acute !
Immediately, consult an Ophthalmologist (Eye doctor) and take his/her
written opinion on the colour ability of your vision.

If you find any difficult opinion, you may consider to take up Mathematics or
Commerce or Software education and persue the career in the private sector,
you can always go for teaching. If you can complete the education in the mathematical
field ( if you find such aptitude), then, later, you can guide yourself to many prospective
fields. God Bless.

Hi all,
Just to say that although the BBC did cut the Ouch message board we have risen from the ashes (actually we never let the flames die out) and after a flase start with a message board that was just too small (!) we now have another thriving message board.

Named Ouchtoo it has all the old favourite boards from BBC Ouch, but we also have some new and exciting boards for campaigning, and a private area for members only.
All the old stuffy rules have been abandoned, there is private messaging and no dealy thre minute delay.

Contrary to the suggestions by the BBC these measures have not resulted in the end of the world !

And yes, the new board has a huge number of the old posters, and the dark humour and cynicism are still there, but also the good natured, polite and deeply caring ethos is overwhelmingly present.

If you want a supportive and safe environment, then please come and visit, and say hi to some of the old faces.
Ouchtoo.org

Regards,
Hoss.
