Sharon Osbourne Apologises For Insulting Susan Boyle’s Appearance
Sharon Osbourne has apologised to Susan Boyle for suggesting during a radio outburst that she was hit with an “ugly stick”.
The former X Factor judge also said Boyle resembled a “hairy a***hole” during a raucous interview in the US, during which she added that someone should give the Scottish singer “a Gillette razor”.
In a statement posted on the TV judge’s Facebook and Twitter page, the 57-year-old said sorry for trying to get a “cheap laugh” out of Boyle’s appearance.
She said: “Susan Boyle is a lovely, gracious woman and I took advantage of that by poking fun at her.
“I would never want to be responsible for hurting Susan and I must apologise for getting a cheap laugh at her expense.”
During the interview on Sirius XM’s Opie And Anthony show, Sharon was asked if she wished Britain’s Got Talent star Boyle all the best with her career.
She replied: “I like everybody to do well, even someone who looks like a slapped a**e.” Not holding back on her comments, Osbourne continued: “She does look like a hairy a***hole.”
The clip was posted on YouTube, leading to a backlash by Boyle supporters and resulting in Sharon’s mea culpa.
Viewers of the YouTube clip commented that Sharon’s words were “vile” and “nasty”.
Sources close to Boyle said: “Susan is a very dignified lady, I’m sure she will accept the apology.”
Susan Boyle may accept the apology, but I’m sure the remarks won’t hurt her any less even if she does. Why, oh why, do people, particularly able-bodied famous people, still not stop to think before making disablist comments?

I’m sure Sharon was completely shocked at the overwhelming support for Susan Boyle.
You can’t do something this cruel, especially to an innocent woman who did nothing to deserve it, and not pay the price for it.
Sharon knows enough about Susan to know the kind of abuse she’s had to take her entire life, especially the last 7 months, and she knows how Susan finally fell apart because of it.
Didn’t matter to Sharon as long as she got her laughs.
Apology or not, she can’t take back what she did and she’ll always be remembered for this, however I’m sure she’ll never hurt anyone this badly again.
Hopefully other have learned from this too and won’t be so quick to hurt someone just to get a bit of attention.
That goes for Amanda Holden too, she’s as bad as Sharon. We won’t forget the Alan Carr Show either.

AMEN TO THAT ..
AND ALSO…
What I am trying to understand is if someone you know of has had a hard life growing up
with people making fun of them and putting them down, and their feelings being hurt all the time
crying alot over it, then as an adult why the h*ll would you do it to them all over again??????????
I have to say that people do not use their Brains…
what a horrible thing to say…and then to think it was funny…
YOU PPL SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES..
I wonder how you would react if you had a child come home from school and tell you they were being made fun of and picked on…
hmmmmm
would you then think it was funny as your child goes into their room and cries everynight …
I swear people are getting more and more heartless everyday..
I thank God there are still people with a heart who will come to Susan’s defense….
this woman (Susan Boyle) did nothing wrong to anyone and surly said nothing wrong about them either..
why are people so rude and ignorant at the cost of someones feeling’s ….
just let her get on with her life and if you don’t like her then stay the he*l away….

Well, it is too late for stupid apologies. The damage has been done. The talk show hosts today can’t get laughs any other way than to be mean-spirited and ridicule people for their looks and their families.
Who do these celebrities think they are–they have all the money in the world to get themselves looking halfway presentable. Even that doesn’t help some of them. Susan Boyle gives hope to everyone–and Sharon O. has no class whatsoever. I am still in shock that anyone could be so cruel toward Boyle–especially when Boyle had such kind words on her blog about Sharon–so proud that Osbourn came backstage to wish her luck. Ah, well, such is the world.

To top it off, Sharon recently tried to chastise the blogger who made the comments about those fat people on the sitcom. Woah Sharon, did you think we’d all forget that quickly?
