Rebekah Brooks’s Phone Call To Gordon Brown Is Unforgivable
July 12, 2011
This article, by special mother Dea Birkett, is well worth a read. I am not the parent of a disabled child, or any child at all, but what she says makes perfect sense to me.

I read Dea’s article on the difficulties families of disabled children face after Ivan Cameron died here. Some of what she had to say was shocking, such as how a charity demanded to see itemised food bills before they would consider supporting her daughter for a wheelchair. I really wished she had named and shamed the charity.
You may be interested to know that the daughter is Storme Toolis, and she has a blog of her own (of theatre reviews) here. (I found the link off an article Dea Birkett wrote on holidaying with children for the Take the Family site.)
