Lisa Egan On 4Thought TV Tonight, C4 7.55PM

November 12, 2013

Disability campaigner Lisa Egan’s film is available to watch now from here, if you can’t watch it on TV tonight.

Lisa Egan

Lisa Egan has lived with a disability since she was born, but since the crisis she’s seen attitudes towards her change. She says she has received some abusive comments online including one which said that she should have been killed at birth to save the taxpayer money. She says austerity has shaken her faith in the goodness of the British people.

I hope those who left these awful comments were tracked down and made to face the courts. I am disabled too but that has little bearing on how disenfranchised I feel with the government and political system. It is not one bad apple in the barrel, it is the very barrel itself that is rotten with just a few good apples remaining. The current government is flogging anything not nailed down and lining their own pockets. Come election time the damage will be done. It is hard not to just throw the towel in some days. I never believe anything the mainstream media says and what it does not say! I rely on the able bodied photographing and videoing events around the world and posting them. My small bit is to comment and spread far and wide the content and reality of what is happening. There are many, many good, honest people out there unfortunately many fear the loss of their family income. Do what you can, things must change or we are no longer ‘human – kind’.
