1950s drama Call the Midwife is set to run one of its most controversial storylines ever about a disabled couple left heartbroken when they’re forced to split up after news that they’re expecting a baby.

Today actors Sarah Gordy and Colin Young, who play the couple at the centre of the controversy, tell us why they’re backing such a sensitive storyline.

Call the Midwife is on Sundays at 8pm on BBC1
