May 9, 2016
This was spotted on ATOS Miracles Facebook page. It’s very worrying to our editor who is currently awaiting a similar letter to the ones reportedly getting lost.

Anyone who has their PIP/DLA stopped because the DWP claim to have sent a letter for renewal or to move over to PIP should ask for a clearly watermarked, COPY or DUPLICATE, of the letter, Proof of postage and proof of receipt. The proof of postage, or receipt, they certainly won’t be able to provide. You would be lucky to get a standard non watermarked copy of the letter.
The person should then initiate court action for payment of the same amount as the DLA/PIP they have gone without plus compensation of 50% of the 4 weekly amount for every 4 weeks they are without the money. Those who would get the PIP no questions asked should take the action as the DWP have been severely negligent in the handling of the claim.
