      As many are now fearing and receiving DLA transfers to PIP.

      Here are two very helpful tips to help you prepare and arm yourself.

      PIP assessment has nothing to do with diagnosis of medical conditions.

      PIP assessments are entirely focused on FUNCTIONALITY, can you do named tasks, reliably,repeatedly,safely in a timely manner, without pain,fatigue or being put at risk or putting others at risk at least 4 days out of 7.. THIS ALSO APPLIES TO ESA ASSESSMENTS.

      1 Contact Gp,, request letter of functionality difficulties.

      2 Contact Adult social care and request an ASSESSMENT OF NEED. Your Council by Law are obliged and have to assess your needs at home. Do not be fobbed off by phone call interview. It is your rights, whether they do help is irrelevant, the “CARE PLAN ” is vital. Directing and evidencing the difficulties you have in black and white.

    Always ensure you have a carer/friend with you when attending interviews for either of these benefits also get them involved in the answering of questions you may or may not comprehend properly

    I have a son diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia who has issues with anxiety about going out, does not walk on grass, etc. Its been a struggle to build his confidence and not think about surfaces when he is walking. I am afraid the assessment will trigger symptoms that he may have overcome and will reverse the progress he has made. PIP have asked to see him at their location -I don’t know whether my son will go anyway. At the same time I received a letter from ESA about the money he will be getting. I am confused and very stressed. Any advice please!!!
