Neighbours Returns- And Sam Young Is A Regular
Neighbours has finally returned, after 14 long months off screen. The superfan that is our editor could not be more grateful to Amazon Freevee, the streaming service that has saved her favourite soap.
But she is first and foremost a disabled person and so, she is not only celebrating the two year time jump or the unlikely upcoming wedding.
There’s much more to celebrate in the form of Sam Young, Mike Young’s daughter. Sam has Down’s Syndrome and viewers met her in 2022, when Lassiters hired her as a PA for Chloe Brennan. Sam was expected to be a guest character which, given Neighbours history covering disability, was enough to celebrate in itself.
In 2023, according to Wikipedia, Sam appears to have become a regular. The first Neighbours regular born with a disability.
Freevee really has proved that everyone’s welcome on Ramsay Street. Our editor couldn’t be happier for Henrietta Graham, who plays Sam, or for fans with lifelong disabilities, who finally find themselves included in the best possible way.
