My thanks to all the mobile networks listed below for finally listening. This will be a great help to many disabled people.

They need to be free for the other lines too as when you chase up a claim or if you need to ring to see whats happening you can be on hold for 10 mins and then take another 10 for call meaning a £7-10 charge!

    I use the WeQ4U (I think that’s correct) app. It re-routes any 08 number and does a call-back if you’re in a queue.

At a recent Public Accounts Committee enquiry, DWP promised to change their 0845 lines to new 03 numbers:

Calls to 03 numbers are charged at the same rate as calling 01 and 02 numbers and count towards inclusive allowances on landlines and mobiles.

Calls to 0800 numbers are free from landlines but are usually chargeable from mobiles. DWP negotiated with various mobile operators in 2010 to immediately make the DWP 0800 numbers free from mobiles. Ofcom plan to make all 080 calls free from all mobiles in 2015.
