Pity the word ‘disable’ has to be part of this new name, again a name chosen by so called ‘able bodies’. When a child, from his/her first awareness and understanding of the world he/she is born into, is that he/she is regarded as ‘disable’, ‘with a disability’, ‘not good enough to’, ‘needs support’, ‘can not self/on his/her own’ and that, that is his/her allocated, society given, decided, alowed and excepted status in the world – then, such a child WILL TRULY BE DISABLE – …….. will then be psychologically ‘disable’, with a huge psychological ‘disability’, will not be good enough ‘to do’ on his/her own, will need help in ALL ‘to do’ , just ‘TO BE’.
On the other hand any child who is ‘different’, will grow up, knowing that he/she is ‘different’, not disable, but ‘differently ABLE’ (or something with the same connotation), but ABLE!!
Just think of the now world famous saying from Oscar Pistorius, “you are NOT disabled by your disability (difference), but ABLED by your ABILITIES”.
“Oscar clearly never was, is not and will never be disable”. ……….that is phenomenal.

The word, ‘DISABLE’ coined by the so called, ‘able bodies’, is a ‘disabling word’ , forget it, please!! – NO PERSON IS DISABLE – just different. Differently able people is much more aware of there ‘other’ talents, than ‘able bodies’ are. When the incredible ability of the human mind and body is recognized and its ability appreciated, such a person might seem to have an ‘unfair advantage’.
