IDS Measures Poverty By Birth Parents

November 16, 2012

If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen my Tweets yesterday about Iain Duncan Smith’s plans to measure child poverty by how long a child has two birth parents looking after them.

I wrote these up, and today Independent Voices have very kindly published the result.

IDS is the last person to give advice on child poverty you only have to see how many people have died on the welfare reform reassessments

Sarah. I think this is very good, very powerful, reply to IDS. He seems to live (probably does) live in his own sheltered world and comes out with some of the awful and ridiculous statements.
Perhaps he will now change tack, however, measured on his past performances, it is doubtful he will.
At least you have had the pleasure of taking him to task.
