Knowsley Housing Trust – pay your rent or social services will take your children away

if you are not paying your rent there is something wrong to begin with . if you are homeless because you did not pay your rent due to a drinking problem or drugs your kids should be removed in till you clean up your act . pls do not think i personally have not gone threw this with cas as i have .. i was an crack addict who did not pay my rent and ended up homeless well guess what cas came and took my baby away and i had to clean up my act and prove to cas i had grown and was responsible and clean to care for my child …8 years later and still clean with a mortgage and the respect of my family again .. I am thankful cas came into my life and took my child … so they could show me what i truly wanted in life and that i had to grow up and be responsible .. I do agree with the letter cause it is true … there is no excuse for not paying rent unless it is a loss of job and even then there is always ow to fall back on ..

Janine; Did it ever occur to you that the family/person in the letter had an EMERGENCY and is POOR and ON A LIMITED BUDGET? When does being poor mean that other people should threaten to have your children kidnapped to ransom your rent?
You are seriously socially retarded if you (in this day and age) do not have anyone that you are friends with that can relate to being POOR and having crisis that no social organization deems worthy of rescuing you from, one example would be having problems with your vehicle, You need to fix it or not get to your job, but you have no extra income, no family that can help. A sick Child, A parent who is recently separated, the list of valid reasons why someone may be behind in rent is endless. Stop being such a biggot and thinking that all people who can’t make their rent each month are some how, like you were. Yourself. having been an addict at one time, I would expect you would have more of an understanding, seems to me that you life lesson ended with you getting clean, and forgot about the issues that made you into an addict in the first place and killed your empathy with anyone suffering, even if they are clean and sober to begin with. OW is a farce, it can take weeks to get help, ask anyone who has lost a job. There is no going from working to no income and being able to really manage when forced onto OW. There are many gaps infact chasms in our social supports. How about looking at the real issue, a land lord threatening eviction and having the children kidnapped from parents who have done nothing WRONG except been financially able to pay their rent. Oh, and just one point, if the poster was a junkie like you were, why are they posting this? Wouldn’t they just accept it and hide, cause they KNOW it’s their junkie habit that caused them not to pay the rent? Think about that!
