Mike Penning MP Is Disabled!
January 29, 2014
Readers, it seems that Mike Penning MP, the current Minister For Disabled People, is disabled. He has dyslexia. I’ve only just found out through this slightly old article at Disability Now.
However, readers, I’ve always believed that old is gold, and this is no different.
Disability Now hopes that Penning will now challenge other members of the Government when they refer to the community of which he claims to be a part as ‘cheats’ and ‘scroungers’ and that he will not refer to us in such language himself.
I hope they are right, but I have my doubts. Can you blame me?

personally i would say looking at Mike Penning and from his background at length his so called dyslexia is very mild and in reality is no different to half the population. my spelling and writing is bad but i don’t go round indicating that i have dyslexia.
i would take his form of dyslexia with a pinch of salt having graduated from Reading University with the degree of BSc.
he has also is very well qualified in Military and the Fire service so it has certainly not been a handicap to him

What a pompous git Nick above is – He really should go get a job with ATOS since he can diagnose conditions by reading comments!!
My son also has dyslexia and while it has never slowed him down in his career outwardly, to those close to him, who know the roles he has turned down for fear of his dyslexia being a problem because of increased paperwork or reports. They would know the sacrifices he has made and the frustration it has caused him over the years.
If as disabled people we jump to conclusions about fellow disabled peoples ‘Disability’ ligitamacy how can we expect non- disabled people to do any different? A mindset that undermines us all in the long run sadly and there are no winners

the bottom line Alan is not anything about dyslexia it’s about does Mike Penning care for the sick and disabled and to prevent their deaths while going through the welfare reform process
to which the answer is he does not so forget about his dyslexia that is nothing to do with his minster for healths profile and having dyslexia does not mean that your fit to do the job in the caring for others as it’s not
