Hospital Patient Confronts MP Over Clause 119

Reader Paula Peters has just posted this on Facebook. I thank her for making me smile, and hope you will smile too.
Sitting in the blood test department waiting to be seen when my MP walks in sits down. I get called in so does he, he sits in the chair next to me….nurse says to him you look familiar, he looks uncomfortable, he said his name, she said you are an MP arent you? One of them tory ones. The room goes deathly quiet.
A voice pipes up, yeah hes one of the bastards who signed clause 119 last week to shut this hospital down. An elderly lady walked up to him and hits him with her handbag and calls him a shit….and a few other choice words…..made the start of monday and the week a pretty lively one.

Yet 119 isn’t about closure of a particular hospital, they wouldn’t discuss patients particulars in front of other patients and the story is completely fictional. But dont let the truth get in the way of a mildly entertaining tory bashing exercise.

Well Fred clearly has no idea what clause 119 nee 118 actually is, so he must be a tory. Clause 119 was brought in because Lewisham defeated the government twice with the attempt to downgrade them to help an unrelated failing hospital. The government thought they could do the same to stafford but added the histrionic propaganda attack to shut it down to pay for the PFI debt of another hospital, having failed with shut down attempts 1 and 2 they have just brought in a clause that they can shut any hospital down within 40 days with no public consultation to bail out another hospital or just to save money. Why wouldn’t The nurse mention that he was an MP to him, it is what is known as conversation.

I don’t doubt it. My comment was in reply to ‘Fred’. I’m interested to know how he is able to baldly state it was “completely fictional”. Over to you, ‘Fred’.
