Women Turned Away From Cannes Screening- For Not Wearing High Heels

I’ve always wanted to wear high heels, but my disability makes this impossible. I know disabled filmmakers in wheelchairs.
What message do reports like these send to them, and to disabled viewers like me?
Is it a message that a global institution like the Cannes Film Festival really wants to send out?
