3 miles that’s 90 minutes at the average walking pace! Or 3 hours if you use my pace. So if you say 3 miles from the job centre that is shutting and you already have 3 miles to cover to get to a job centre you could spend a full day just going to the job centre and back.
Then if they say 20 minutes by public transport, a bus never takes the most direct route and may take many side streets on the way to the nearest stop to the job centre. But in truth how many job centres are actually on a bus route? I think one job centre in my home city has shut and people have to walk an extra mile to attend the other JCP office in the city, it certainly looks closed even if they are open for business as they have plans to facelift the building it was housed in.
