DWP Fights To Hide WCA Under-Performance
With many thanks to Benefits And Work.
The DWP is fighting to prevent disclosure of a report that shows how well Maximus is managing to carry out its work capability assessment contract, for fear it would damage the company’s reputation.
A request for a copy of the outcome report, which would give a breakdown of Maximus’ performance at each assessment centre has been ordered to be released by the Information Commissioner.
However, the DWP are refusing to publish it and are now taking the case to an information tribunal.
The report goes all the way back to 2011, covering the performance of both Atos and Maximus.
The DWP claim that if the information was published it could ‘give a perception of under-performance’ which could ‘damage the reputation and standing of the companies involved’.
The DWP are thus claiming that the data is exempt from disclosure because publishing it could damage the commercial interests of both Maximus and Atos, as well as the DWP itself.
We’ll keep readers posted about the result of the information tribunal hearing.

who have they got to be kidding, damage the commercial interests of the companies, if they did there jobs correctly in the first place then there would be nothing to damage and as for the dwp being damaged, you cannot fix something that is so badly broken the the world would run out of superglue if it even tried, there is no trust in the wca/pip/universal credit process and in very rare circumstance the trust level at dwp is not far of zero either, this is not always there fault but the ministers and advisors past and present have a duty of care and while they sit in there ever so strong and stable government, remember one thing we vote as well!!!

those 2 firms NEED exposing. (3 if you count the DWP) who cares how under performing they have been . when they havent cared how much damage they have done to people.physically, mentally or fatally, Just shows that the DWP which was brought into existence to HELP THEIR CLIENTS, are now not their for anyone but themselves and their business buddies.

Excellent article, we are finding the quality is sliding so fast that you might as well let the postman assess your disability needs. They disregard the law, don’t even know what the handbook is, and staff think nothing of leaving people to wait hours in crowded waiting rooms for overbooked assessors.
The staff are rude, judgemental and condescending and have no people skills either.
When we’ve tried to raise these urgent issues with Sue Marsh we really didn’t get anywhere other than fobbed off and told to provide signed form of authority forms for every complaint we had, before they would look into it. As many needed urgently addressing, this was impractical given the time restraints imposed by them and DWP.
The WCA system is a diabolical sham in my professional opinion and it’s getting worse.
