This whole discrimination thing is awful. My 64yr old friend is bipolar and suffers severe cluster headaches and has been served a section 21 notice. He’s lived in the house with his two now adult children for 18yrs, on housing benefit the whole time, and never ever failed to pay his rent in full and on time. Now they can’t get another house because no one will accept benefits so all 3 of them are about to be homeless and on the streets. Why can’t people be judged on their past history of paying their rent instead of being stigmatised for being unable to work due to mental health problems?

Sarah, aren’t local councils supposed to help disabled homeless people?
