Who Should Appear On The New £50?

October 24, 2018

Sky News are running a poll asking who should appear on the new plastic £50 note. Our editor has just voted for Stephen Hawking.

We’d like to know your suggestions for British disabled people who deserve this honour. To be considered by the Bank of England, they have to be dead. However, for some midweek fun, you can suggest living people, too.

….British disabled people who deserve this honour.

    Already done –

    Winston Churchill – Depression
    Isaac Newton – Autism? Aspergers?
Charles Darwin – Chagas disease? Crohn’s disease?
Florence Nightingale – bipolar? brucellosis? PTSD? Alzheimer’s.

I guess the obvious with a disability would be Horatio Nelson.
If disability isn’t *already* over-represented on banknotes. lol

Certainly not Stephen Hawking – No excuse for this at ATOS 2012 –

At least Nelson fought the French… (ATOS is French LoL) 😀

I think Princess Diana should head the £50 note as she has done lots of charity work which is overshadowed and not recognized to many due to the relationship she had with the Queen.
