IDS To Write To Kieran McArdle

November 3, 2012

According to the Daily Record this morning, IDS is to write to Kieran McArdle, the teenager who sent a letter to the paper accusing ATOS of killing his disabled father.

While this is a positive thing, it is likely that the letter will be a standard one, expressing sympathy at the child’s loss.

This case won’t put an end to WCAs. What should be noted is that a grieving child can see what these assessments are doing to so many. Now that this has happened, we have to wonder why the Government, all adults, can’t see what Kieran McArdle can.

I’m thinking that poor young Kieran McArdle, at merely 13 years old, appears to be mature beyond his years, literate, thinking, feeling, and able to communicate! Surely one of Britain’s bright hopes for the future (and we need some of those, or there will be no future)! And long-term “pain in the arse” IDS treats him like this! Never mind apologies, letters etc – what would it have ailed IDS to spend a day and some of his expenses in taking an express train up to Scotland and going to visit this poor courageous lad…..and sit down and cry with him? That would have been “compassion”! Would not have brought dad back – but might well have helped poor Kieran to do his grieving and get his life back on track before it’s too late! This just came to my attention and I’ve been checking all the web-stuff….and I’ve been crying for Keiran and his dad! IDS and ATOS should go to Hell together – and burn together! And “Con-Dem” seems a plausible term for our present Government….ie for “Con-Dem” read “Condemn”! What is our world coming to? Where is “humanity”? When I was a little kid, Kieran’s age, we were taught to be “proud to be British”. How many of us, in these days, are “ashamed to be British”!
