Meena Rahman’s Family Made A Genuine Mistake

April 12, 2013

I’ve just seen this message from Sue Marsh on Facebook:

If you saw the #jobsformeena hashtag yesterday, Meena’s family would like to confirm that they made a genuine mistake & ask that tweets and posts from yesterday are no longer circulated. They also thank everyone for their concern. The ESA process is ridiculously complicated and most people get very confused by they aggressive tone of Atos/DWP letters.

I’m relieved to read this message, for Meena and her family. I have nothing but good wishes for them.

Reblogged this on HUMAN RIGHTS & POLITICAL JOURNAL and commented:
    Thank You!

This doesn’t state that Meena will continue to be in receipt of the same level of benefits as previously. It does however make me wonder if pressure has been put on the family. Confirmation on either appreciated

in what way have they have made a mistake ? we need to be very careful otherwise in future many deaths caused by ATOS failure of care will go unnoticed to the detriment of their families

A posting on you tube means nothing at first hand other then to investigate on what has happened in this case we have fallen short and am sure the web master of this blog would agree

I myself was in contact with the prime ministers office about this case so i will now need to personally apologize to his office

I posted about this on another site, and had my comment deleted and was accused of suggesting the family were liars.

What I had said was it that this shows how important it is for those who report these stories to be absolutely sure of the facts before spreading it all around the internet. I speak as someone going through the degrading, demoralising ATOS system at the moment and I have total sympathy with anyone doing the same. However, the situation is so serious that it is vital that we report the facts – not just a knee-jerk reaction.

What are you thinking?
