You Can Complain When The JobCentre Fails

I’ve just spotted this on Facebook… thought it might be useful to some of you.

Hi I’ve not seen any posts relating to this but as the dwp love to upset so many people I thought I would share….. You are able to claim compensation when the jobcentres failings negatively impacts you, you fill in a standard complaints form but start it “I would like to request a special payment on the basis of…..” mark the complaint F.A.O Government Parliamentary Buildings. I received £655 from them when they misinformed me regarding carers allowance and stopped my mums money. Complain away people

This is the type of information that we need to have spread around. Whinging gets no one anywhere, but right information does.
Another useful piece of information. If you owe a company money, and that company, banks, or whatever, sells your debt on, and you receive a letter from the company that has purchased your debt, asking you to negotiate repayment with them, you do not enter into an agreement to repay because the company that purchased your debt owns the debt, you do not. The company that has purchased your original debt needs you to sign up with them so that the original debt might be transferred by to you. The Transfer of Bills Act 1882 declares that if someone, without your agreement, purchases you debt that debt is “extinguished”.
How many people are signing up to repay companies that purchase debts, and CAB, and the like will not tell anyone that the debt is cleared as soon as another pays it without your permission.

I believe you’ll find permission was granted when you took out the original loan/credit card/mortgage/whatever. You’d probably do better to pursue why the debt was sold on, if that’s indeed the case, in the first place. If it’s recoverable, why sell it on?
