Flowers For The Fallen Of ATOS

July 7, 2014

A powerful photo I spotted on Twitter yesterday. A flower for every person that died within 6 weeks of ATOS finding them fit for work.

“In total, between January 2011 and November 2011, some 10,600 claims ended and a date of death was recorded within six weeks of the claim end”.

The six weeks time period is not necessarily deaths six weeks after. It a count of all deaths 6 weeks BEFORE and AFTER claims stopping. Anyone who is on benefits and dies, their claim will stop pretty quickly – within 6 weeks. So realistically most of these claims being stopped will be as a result of the death of claimant. Not the death being as a result of the benefit stopping as this article incorrectly suggests. Complete non-story

As soon as you report the death by law the local council notifies DWP, benefit is stopped immediately.

This is an absolute disgrace and something should be done about this instead of listening to more blah blah blah. 75% of those that are claiming benefits are working that includes some politicians. Amazing how they soon turned onto those that are claiming benefits and no more on the bankers that caused the crash in numerous countries. Inflation 1.5% lowest in over 4 years yet benefits rise at 1%. It’s customary that the tories take as much as they can from the worst of and give it to there friends every time they get elected, they should get removed from parliament before there bums hit the seats. Politicians are suppose to run this country that is best for everyone not the selective few.

The firm Atos, which assesses whether benefit claimants in Britain are fit to work, is to finish its contract early, ministers have confirmed. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-26766345

Won’t change the fact WCAs are still the protocol, nothing will change. Also, the new contract is poised to go to OH Assist (Atos’ sister company) or the abusive and incompetent G4S.

It could be that ATOS be a tad hasty at times, couldn’t it?

And how many more we don’t know about. The ones living with the only thought “how to survive the day” & why do I have to wake up again

    • July 7, 2014 6:20 pm

      indeed Rita

i have undertaken the task of trying to put the names to the press photos who have died over the past 4 years

i will need 4 years myself to undertake this task as it’s not easy and have to keep stopping as you can imagine as some of the details are quite horrific

All our politicians are on protected benefits- they’re called expenses. Shame on us all for allowing such people to run our world.

For some reason this photo is doing the rounds of the social networking sites of Twitter and Facebook. This was back in Sept 2013.

You have obviously ruffled some government feathers! Well done! Now lets share the hell out of this and stop the suppression of information on the net…

This is the reason the Tories want out of the Human Rights Act – they do not respect people’s rights and we are at last being investigated for the crimes against the sick and disabled that they have perpetrated over the past 5 years. Might we at last see May and IDS in the dock?

“What kind of Government uses the media to scape-goat and stigmatise sick and disabled people, by lying and inventing statistics to “justify” the persecution of our most vulnerable citizens, and the withdrawal of their crucial lifelines and support?

One that does not value those lives, or regard them as having an equal worth with others.
