Tory Benefit Cut Options Leaked

March 27, 2015

So, they’ve leaked the ‘options’ being considered for cutting the welfare bill.

These three ‘options’ would affect disabled people and carers most:

  • Carer’s Allowance – this could be restricted to those eligible for Universal Credit. Leaked documents suggest about 40% of claimants would lose out. DWP predicted saving – £1bn
  • The contributory element of Employment and Support Allowance and Job Seekers Allowance – currently claimants who have paid enough National Insurance contributions can get the benefits with little means testing; DWP analysis suggests 30% of claimants, over 300,000 families, would lose about £80 per week. DWP predicted saving – £1.3bn in 2018/19
  • Disability benefits – Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payments and Attendance Allowance (for over 65s who have personal care needs) would no longer be paid tax free. Possible saving – £1.5bn per annum (based on IFS Green Budget calculation )

The BBC has the full list of ‘options’ here.

Rachel Reeves of Labour has said Labour do not want to be seen as the party of the people on benefits. This means:

97 per cent of benefits bill is to working poor and poor pensioners, with only 3 per cent unemployed, including the disabled and chronic sick / terminally ill dumped onto JSA and ESA and then sanctioned along with everyone else, even in their 60s denies state pension payout and pension credit.

    THE VOTE OR STARVE
FOR PARTIES OF THE POOR ELECTION

Labour cannot win, neither can the Tories on Thursday 7 May.

So the expert predict a second general election this year, with even fewer voters coming out, and then a TORY / LABOUR COALIITION,
with no party left opposition to austerity and welfare cuts.

Mr Balls Labour has said again and again Labour would reverse Tory spending cuts nor change anything on the last Tory Budget.

WHO ARE THE PARTIES OF THE POOR

Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition (TUSC)
    Running 125 MP candidates
and 1000 councillor candidates in the 6000 council electons
    on Thursday 7 May.
Despite being the 6th biggest party getting nil media coverage.

    MEBYON KERNOW
Cornwall single figure Tory and Lib Dem majorities.
Mebyon Kernow running in all Cornwall voting areas.

    CLASS WAR
    Double dole and pension

    SOCIALIST GB
    Socialist party of Great Britain

1 Green is Brighton Pavillions voting area
But several other voting areas around Brighton

    Brighton Kemptown
Majority of voters are the poor, in or out of work, poor pensioners, poor disabled.

    Socialist GB candidate
    Josephine Shodeke

    Brighton Kemptown:
    Claimant Count 9,360
    Tory majority 1,328

LABOUR / SNP / PLAID CYMRU / TUSC / CLASS WAR / SOCIALIST GB / MEBYON KERNOW
Such a multi party coalition, guarantees shutting the Tories out of power, as the parties of the poor would win big if the poor knew they existed in Tory and Lib Dem marginals.
