BBC Free Speech are asking for thoughts on these Tweets from Katie Hopkins.
Personally I think it’s terrible that someone with such a large following has and reveals these views on what is, for many people, a very serious and severe mental health condition.

It is funny she could say such things, in the wake of a plane crash and over one hundred dead and it was one person who was depressed. I’m sick of that woman’s ignorance.

never heard of anybody taking their own life after getting caught in the rain but depression now thats a different beast….sadly i think you are just playing into her hands by even taking the trouble to discuss anything that she says…..clearly this is what she wants…her tweets do not even deserve an answer so ignore them.

Otherwise an ignorant airhead ‘celebrity’, she has made a career of hatred. She is a professional hater. She has the unwritten backing of Cameron to act as his hater-in-residence, so don’t expect a prosecution in the near future.

Depresion Anxiety is a very serious conditions which kills many people every year..with Anorexia…Suicidal Feelings.. Suicidal Thoughts…Self Harming..Alcohol Poisoning..Drug Overdosing…Obeisity through Food Addiction…and many more…
These are very powerful internal disorders…of which I was able to Study from inside the mind and body for 20 years..until I completely cured myself.
I have been running a Service since 1998..guiding children..teens and adults back to normal health…so they can live a normal life ..complete their education..gain qualifications..work full time..hear ..read..speak..walk..This is Disability and physically destroys the individual from inside.. I run Programmes..and it can take up to 7 months to release the person from being locked up and trapped inside …

The problem is, that this odious little attention grabber will say, or do anything that will cause upset with people. She would say, up is down and water is dry just to get a reaction. Her motivation is just to gain attention, why do people pander to her needs? She’s like an insect bite; scratch it and it gets worse, ignore it and it will eventually go away! If everyone ignored her puerile attempts to be constantly in the limelight, she would fade away. Difficult to do, I know, but not impossible.

This woman is a vicious haridan, out to upset others for her own profit. I worked in mental health for many years, and whilst there is a difference between depression and clinical depression, harsh words never cured either. I assume Hopkins does not have my qualifications or experience, so why give her a platform to pronounce on what she knows not, and never to any positive end, but her bank balance. She needs gagging before she drives the desperate to suicide

There is nothing wrong with free speech but this airbrain spreads hate and discrimination and picks on vunerables. Self oppinionated pratt. Has no idea what she is talking about depression is so debilitating its unbeleivable and when it hits you it floors you. Try to make a cup of tea! You cant, try wash/shower you cant. Try going to the shop! You cant. Silly horrible specimin shes worse than vermin

well on a positive note I know that she will die alone somewhere and hopefully stray cats will eat her, then have to have their stomachs pumped. She could not have ever been depressed to make such flippant remarks. Do you remember time bandits the film, well she is the lump of pure evil left in the microwave she really is. I agree with every statement written above. Have you noticed how ugly she is and she’s getting uglier by the day. She really is an evil old hag. Anyway the point I want to make is for every ugly horrible thing she spews forth a wonderful kind bunch of people comment on places all over the internet and that gives me hope, as they say what she is and to take no notice of her. I applaud everyone who stands up to this idiot. The last leg summed her up best ‘she’s a d**k pure and simple. Love to all the good and my she be shown mercy when her day of reckoning comes because by GOD it will.

Please can we not give this horrific excuse for a human being airtime. As a former BBC Employee I find giving her a platform totally irresponsible. She is just after attention and has no credibility or experience so why is she given airtime? To promote UNREALITY CRAP?!?! Giving her airtime actually promotes her whether positive or negative. Let’s stop!!

I find that Katie Hopkins takes a deliberate inflammatory stance on these sensitive subjects in the name of publicity… I think this is becoming a lucrative pass time for her. Does anyone else think someone is paying her?

yes the papers are paying her and she is sending tweets as part of her job and the papers obviously know what she is writing because they keep reporting her. Don’t know which paper but obviously a right wing paper.
