A Message From Fightback: DWP May Alter And Forge PIP Forms
From Fightback’s Facebook page. Please share widely.
Ok we have a bit of a tricky post now but one that is true and illustrates the latest all time low DWP will go to to justify their adverse decisions to the Court.
Our client who attended court and won today is convinced somebody at DWP altered and forged some of her PIP form. Many of the pages on the main descriptors were replaced with the no tick boxes ticked, indicating she had no problem with washing, dressing, toileting, and communicating and with all her written info was virtually blank. On closer scrutiny of the bundle which contained the application form, her handwriting was noticeably different on the form on these pages and her 7s uncrossed on others.
She was denied points as she had indicated “no problems,” but after writing a statement to confirm, and a submission pointing out the inconsistencies and alleged fraud, the judge agreed with her and the decision was overturned.
We urge you to therefore keep copies of your PIP form and compare it to the one in the bundle, if on appeal.
I suspect this was not a one off!
The DWP did the same with my evidence; I had included extra evidence of my daily routine to point out struggles & how I cannot do many things, I had a friend print them off, then wrote page numbers on the top on case they got separated.
DWP REMOVED the most important page detailing many things I can’t do, pain scores etc, SCRIBBLED OUT my page numbers at the top and RE-WROTE in their OWN page numbers (In different handwriting) to try to conceal their fraud. I only found out when the tribunal evidence was sent and I saw the photocopy of their version.
I called them out on it and surprise surprise they backed down, but didn’t apologise for their blatant fraud.
i am sure i fill everything in even if i dont need to and sign it at the end so nothing can be added or changed
sorry will make that more clear. i mean i make sure i fill everything in on forms by signing every box if nothing need to be put it and sign at the end of the last sentence so nothing can be added or changed!
I think that’s a very good idea! Much like when you fill out a cheque, making sure there’s a line after the numerical and the written.
The dwp also did this with my forms to and atos when I had to go there did it to its a disgrace how they can treat people in such a disrespectful manner
It would also be advisable for people who fill in an application for PIP to copy their form and every bit of info they send then they have a record of the form so they can cross reference it with any SAR they receive back from the DWP.
I have all my info in a file on an external HDD and backed up to another HDD that isn’t connected to the PC.
If they receive back an altered form then that person could email George Iain Duncan Smith and notify him that as he is in charge of the DWP, and you received info from them, that you intend to prosecute him for fraud by his department. After all he is in charge of the DWP so should know what is going on, claiming lack of knowledge of the fact is no excuse he is in charge and the ultimate responsibility lies with him the only way he can avoid ending up in court is to hand over the culprits to face the charges but it does not stop the DWP been charged with fraud, they were acting on behalf of the DWP.
I always photocopy all the paperwork I send off 1, for my own records so I know I’ve done it and 2, cos I am a bit paranoid this sort of thing could happen

This is a disgrace – imagine what would happen if a claimant forged documents. There needs to be a full investigation into goings on at DWP
