Web Site delayed. Concerning the contributor wanting for Christmas two good feet. I can empthasise having retained both mine which WWII plastic surgeons saved in 1943/45 on giving me the choice. But with uncertainly as to my left foot.So I thank God daily for another day standing upright with limited walking but a Motability Scheme life saver with my Scheme car. My web page is delayed so I ask to use this medium in support of people who benefit from Ministry of Works and Pensions Higher Rate Mobility Allowances with Mobility Supplement (Fact Sheets 15 & 17). But which [sadly] is ignored in the Department of Transport which will not close a loophole in the Traffic Acts 1984 enabling cash strapped local councils to charge the HRMA holders for car parking at various rates. If you have space I explain below a letter I have sent to the Transport Minister and to local councillors. :-

Thanks Helen. I have our MP John Penrose interested . He wishes me to canvas the Council Executive and my three ward councillors which I am doing. I also contacted Peter Ashford to get a message to the Minister which I have just sent.See below.
I am more interested in those councils which charge ,subject to a later hour free, severely disabled Higher Rate Motability Blue Badge Car car owners supplied by a grateful state. I have contacted Peter Ashford who says I may write direct to the Minister. Is there anything being considered for councils who cling to the criminal code 1984 Act for off street parking to operate their off street car parks and distance themselves from appeals which have to be made once you are summoned to a Magistrate. (As a potential ciminal).
Understood the Lincoln Council is being sued for discriminating against severely disabled who have to take longer than average to do their shopping and thus pay through the nose. My North Somerset Council is a council which introduced charging in 2002 and are about to increase the time to 10 pm. every day. Can the Minister please comment as to his powers to stop this a appalling disregard of (for example ) those recent military men who will complete their service with prosthetic limbs praised by the same councillors on Remembrance Sunday and Heroes functions but charge them the same day to park near the parade and service unless street parking is used. John Morris..

Dear Roland, Thank you so much for your email. As you may have gathered from the magazine charging disabled people to pay in off-street car parks is something I am working had to stop as I believe it to be discriminatory on the grounds that disabled people take much longer to do their shopping etc.. My own council has introduced the charges and I am currently planning legal action against them. Another organisation is doing something similar in Lincoln as well. If we keep on campaigning we will fet there in the end. Have a great Christmas.

Hello
The ‘contributor’ you mention was me. The poem was simply an attempt to put a disability-friendly twist on the Christmas song ‘All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth.’ It is my original writing- I’m glad you read and liked it.
Thank you very much for sharing your experiences, and this information. I hope that other readers will find the information you have shared useful.
Best wishes
