Asda accessibility
On a trip to Asda in Wembley last night, I was very impressed to find that the store’s new second floor is totally wheelchair accessible. There are no stairs at all, anywhere. Instead, everyone uses a moving conveyor belt. Okay, so it tells people to be careful every five minutes and it made me feel a bit like a human suitcase, but then, wheelchair access to anywhere never was perfect, was it? At least, thank God, they have the decency to put it there and in the process, send out a clear message to their shoppers that they welcome wheelchair users and others with DisAbilities…. which is a lot more than I can say for the ice rink from last week! A big thanks from me to everyone at Asda Wembley for making the store accessible!
